Ceramic Coating forms a much stronger, harder bond that can withstand the elements to a much greater degree than most Wax's and Sealants. Ceramic Coatings are resistant to UV Rays, alkaline cleaners, salt, degreasers and other harsh chemicals that can find their way onto your vehicles delicate finish.
Ceramic Coatings offer a significant advantage over other conventional Protectors in the way that they keep your Surfaces noticeably cleaner in between regular washes. Ceramic Coatings create a greater amount of surface tension and produce what is known as a sheeting effect. Sheeting water off the surface reduces the chance of water spots from occurring.
Most Ceramic Coatings are formulated using some type of resin, nano-glass or quartz technology. Protection options can be broadly divided into 3 categories: wax, polymer sealant and ceramic shield. They all have their relative strengths and weaknesses, BUT the Ceramic Cannot be beaten for Durability Gloss!
If a vehicle has been detailed just three years ago, it would now be receiving a polymer coating. Polymer-based products have been around for over twenty years and only recently have they changed significantly thanks to more brands competing for top honours. Generally speaking these offer better, longer lasting protection than organic waxes, but cannot give the deep lustre characteristic of a quality wax. They contain UV filters which dramatically reduce oxidation, more commonly known as gelcoat fade. While polymer coatings do offer varying degrees of chemical protection against the likes of bird lime, salt and natural elements their primary weakness is their vulnerability to caustic chemicals used by poor valeting procedures. Thus one could spend hours protecting a yacht or boat, only for an absent-minded owner using harsh chemicals a couple weeks later and having the protection removed by over-concentrated traffic film remover (TFR).
Ceramic protection is a relatively new genre of products that use silica dioxide to provide a thin, extremely hard, and chemical resistant layer. These not only offer superior chemical resistance to polymer alternatives, but also protect against swirl marks courtesy of their extreme hardness. Often referred to as 'glass-coat' thanks both to its silica content and its glass-like gloss, ceramic products almost always need professional application. The key to applying it successfully is in the preparation, ensuring the paint is as close to perfect as possible. Equally important is the environment in which it is used - our 9H Ceramic Coating is not reliant on specific temperatures, humidity, and long curing times to ensure a perfect finish.

Paint coatings need to be applied to surfaces that are free of above and below surface contaminants. Like a car wax or paint sealant, if the surface isn’t properly prepped, the paint coating won’t properly adhere, yielding less-than-desirable results. We are very Experienced and Trained.
First and foremost, we will need to remove above surface contaminants. Above surface contaminants can consist of rail dust, bugs, industrial fallout, airborne pollution, and paint overspray. We have a couple options to remove above-surface contaminants.
After a Snow Foam Application which sits on the car for a few minutes and Lifts all Grit and Grime
The first is a detailing clay bar. A Clay Bar is an engineered resin compound used to remove contaminants from the surface of your car’s paint, glass, fiberglass and metal. Detailing clay can be natural or synthetic, though most manufacturers utilize synthetic clays. Detailing clay contains an abrasive that removes contaminants as the bar is rubbed across the surface. The clay itself is tacky so the contaminants stick to the bar instead of being grinded into the finish, potentially inducing scratches or marring.
A clay bar glides along the surface of your paint and grabs anything that protrudes from the surface. The particle sticks to the clay and is therefore removed from your vehicle. The surface being clayed should always be wet with clay lubricant to prevent loose debris from scratching the paint work!
The polishing step is just as critical as the claying step. Polishing your paint with an abrasive polish or compound removes swirls, scratches, water spots, and below surface contaminants, creating a perfectly smooth, high-gloss finish. Using an abrasive compound like M105 and then M205 Polish, is only necessary if our goal is to create a flawless finish. Which it is!
If we do use an abrasive polish or compound, we are sure to chemically strip the paint with a product like IPA. Polishes and compounds contain oils and fillers that will prevent a coating from properly bonding to the surface. This is why it is so important to chemically strip cthe surface before applying the paint coating.
You can avoid using chemical paint strippers if the last polish you use is Detailer’s Coating Prep Polish. This unique polish is wax, oil, and silicone free. It doesn’t leave anything on the surface that will prevent a coating from properly bonding. It can be applied by hand or machine. It’s also a great option for vehicle’s that don’t have any swirls or scratches to begin with. Detailer’s Coating Prep Polish is non-abrasive.
Applying a Paint Coating:
Once we've clayed,polished the vehicle, and IPA it, it’s time to apply the paint coating.
Our Ceramic Coating has an extremely high-gloss shine.
We take a unique approach with our Ceramic coating and it will begin to harden as soon as it is exposed to oxygen!
Once a paint coating has been applied, the vehicle should be kept in a cool, dry environment for at least a couple hours. We want to avoid moisture, rain and humidity. It’s best to keep the vehicle parked in a garage or, if it’s not too humid outside, let it sit in the sun. The sun will accelerate the curing time.
Paint coatings need to be properly maintained, just like a car wax or paint sealant using PH neutral soaps!
